Top Generation Club - May 2022 update

What we’ve been up to -

· Collecting for Causes project

Thanks so much to the Top Generation Club and Carlsbad Springs and surrounding area for collecting items that will be recycled, reused, and repurposed. Recently more than 5,000 used milk bags were delivered to an eager group of 13 weavers who were out of bags, which are cut in a particular way, looped, and woven to make a colorful, soft and washable sleeping mats in under privileged countries. The group gave us 18 finished sleeping mats that will make their way to the Canadian Food for Children (CFFC) in Mississauga, ON, shipped to Halifax, NS and then to various countries. What teamwork!

If you would like a list of items our club gathers for our Collecting for Causes project, please email your request to the Top Generation Club email address.

· Getting ready to go back to the club

On 22 April two groups of members got together—one team inside cleaning the kitchen cupboards, noting missing supplies, washing cutlery and dishware and the likes; the other pruning shrubs, cleaning the flowerbeds, raking and bagging dead grasses. Nice to hear the chatter and laughter in the building during a hot dog lunch!

We hope to soon have a return date for weekly get togethers. Stay tuned!

· Accepting rentals to accommodate a group of 60 people

The Top Generation Club sits on a one acre piece of property, has an open floor plan that is ideal for gatherings up to 60 people, two powder rooms—one is accessibility friendly, an equipped kitchen, and features an accessible ramp to and from the building.

We have been working to get post-COVID guidelines in place as inquiries about renting the hall increase. A renter must be at least 21 years of age, is required to sign the rental agreement, and pay for the rental, $125 per day, prior to using the facility and/or its grounds.

The club accepts payment by e-transfer to topgenerationclub@gmail.com, a cheque payable to Top Generation Club, or good ole cash!

Bookings and site visits are made by appointment with the Rental Coordinator Wendy via telephone, 613 835-3515, or by email, topgenerationclub@gmail.com.
